Journalism Diversity Program Class of 2024

During my time at Bloomberg, I received comprehensive terminal training, which deepened my understanding of essential economic concepts and provided me with the tools to write accurate and insightful breaking news articles based on real-time data analysis. With the help of immersive workshops, I was also trained in interviewing techniques, allowing me to conduct interviews with senior anchors and journalists, which enhanced my ability to extract valuable insights and improve my reporting. I gained practical experience in broadcast and production, further honing my journalistic skills. I mastered the "Bloomberg Way" of writing through focused workshops that refined my reporting, interview techniques, and overall writing style. In addition, I made a conscious effort to incorporate diversity and inclusion into my journalistic practices, which enriched the depth and perspective of my work. This experience solidified my commitment to producing well-rounded, relevant journalism in a fast-paced, professional environment.

A highlight of my experience at Bloomberg was meeting Matt Winkler, Editor-in-Chief Emeritus, who imparted invaluable lessons on the fundamentals of journalism. He introduced me to the "5 F's of Journalism," a guiding framework that emphasizes the core principles of effective reporting. His mentorship provided me with a deeper understanding of journalistic integrity and helped shape my approach to creating impactful, clear, and accurate content.
